Older style motel with a great owner, room was clean and comfortable and just far enough off freeway (1.5 blocks) to be nice and quiet
We came to the Sunset Inn after a terrible storm flooded the roads on our way home from Louisville, KY. The gentleman was beyond kind giving us a room at 11pm for the the night. After a week of staying in hotels (including the Hilton) this Inn was the cleanest. It had beautiful renovations & amazing staff. We stayed because of a storm, but we would definitely stay here again just for a relaxing night.
Small family owned warm place to stay. Joe and Mary and the sweetest pair and work on accommodating you in every way possible. Need a fridge and microwave they have it. Need ice they will give it to you. Inexpensive and close to everything why not stay here and they have a heated pool for your summer trips.
The owners (sweet Joe and Mary), whose home includes the Inn's office, were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our room was huge, had plenty of furniture, and was clean. There weren't many "amenities," but our family will return for the friendly service and comfortable rooms.
Due to a few plans going awry, we booked over the phone at 10pm on a rainy Friday night. Mary and Joseph, the couple that run the Inn, were incredibly accommodating and friendly, very helpful, and gave us a great rate. The rooms were large, very clean, and comfortable, included refrigerator and coffee maker, small table. The only drawback was that the walls were a little thin, and the couple in the unit above us had a very loud 2am fight that involved a lot of stomping around, but that is not the establishment's fault. When I mentioned the incident in the morning, Mary assured me that if I had called the office it would have been taken care of. All-in-all it's a great little place run by a lovely couple, with excellent rates and very clean, spacious rooms.
The sweetest couple owns this place! Very warm and inviting environment. The rooms are clean; updated AC, mini fridge, and microwave in the room. The furniture is a little dated but still very clean. My room has two sitting areas with tables, so lots of space for your stuff. Another thing I was happy to see were the nice towels in the bathroom lol. I know that’s a weird thing to compliment but I stay in motels for weeks at a time for work, and this place has really soft towels. Would definitely stay here again. 100% recommend.
I stopped here with my family in the summer of 2007 and never forgot it. Such a sweet surprise for a traveling family. We opened the door to our room and ooohhed and awwed. My husband joked he was going to the casino, it was such a nice room! thank you for the memories <3
Awesome place very clean and friendly to visit! They got us in last minute late at night owners are very nice people. I would definitely recommend staying here we will be back!!
